LUKE JOH, DDS

MY DENTAL PHILOSOPHY

I believe health and wellness is the most important part of life. When we are healthy, we are able to do more of what we want, when we want … and with that comes a greater quality of life.

As a dentist, I find it most gratifying to improve people’s health, knowing what I do enables them to be happier and lead fuller, more enjoyable lives.

My goal, and that of my team, is to help each patient establish a healthy mouth and improved overall wellness. In order to achieve that, we must first build a trusting rapport with our patient, so he or she understands we care and have the person’s best interests at heart.

We spend a lot of time talking with and listening to patients, learning about their lives, interests, and families. These conversations foster a bond which is strengthened through the respect and compassion we consistently display.

When our patients feel safe in our care, they are open to following our guidance on the changes they can make to improve their oral and bodily health. Seeing people transform their lives and take control of their health — along with achieving a great smile — is a rewarding experience!

EDUCATION AND PROFESSIONAL MEMBERSHIPS

Dentistry, like all fields of healthcare, is constantly evolving. Research leads to technological innovations, along with new methodologies, materials, and approaches to the patient experience.

I have been practicing dentistry since 2000, and during that time there have been changes in the diagnostic approach, as well as the actual treatments and processes. At the same time, I have learned that the latest does not always mean the greatest.

I regularly seek out continuing dental education, to keep current on new developments and assessing each to ensure it will benefit my patients.

In addition to participating in Spear Education and an Invisalign® study group, I am a member of the:

These professional groups offer a range of educational opportunities, including meetings, seminars, lectures, and various publications. I take advantage of numerous courses throughout the year and feel confident I am providing my patients with the best modern dentistry offers.

BEYOND THE OFFICE

I grew up in California’s Orange County and now live with my family in North Scottsdale. When I’m not seeing patients, I prioritize time with my wife, daughter, and our family dog. We enjoy traveling, watching movies, and activities with our church. I also like to golf, attend sporting events, and follow USC Football.
